Health +
Well-being + School Readiness

Go & Grow Eastern Shore increases family access to affordable quality early services and resources that promote the health, well-being and school readiness of all children (0-5) on the Eastern Shore through a collaborative systems building approach with community partners.

Go & Grow Eastern Shore (GAGES)

We believe all Eastern Shore Families should have equal access to affordable, quality, early childhood education, intervention services, and resources that ensure young children are ready for school - and build the foundation for success in school, work, and life.

HOW WE DO IT

GAGES is a community partner of the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation (VECF) and its Ready Regions statewide network. We support local children and families by administering programming through our local partner networks.

GAGES Programs & Activities

The KIDS COUNT In-Person Forum (KFC) is an annual event at Eastern Shore Community College organized around the belief that our children and youth are one of our greatest assets. Therefore, protecting and promoting their well-being is the key to growing a productive workforce and a community of engaged citizens.

KIDS COUNT In-Person Forum

In early 2020, Smart Beginnings Eastern Shore (SBES) postponed the 2020 KIDS COUNT Forum due to the COVID-19 crisis. Our Steering Committee explored a variety of ways to transform components of the KIDS COUNT on the Eastern Shore Forum into a virtual format. We launched the Virtual Series in 2021.

Some parents have a hard time introducing young children to the experiences needed for the best possible cognitive, physical and emotional development. To help mitigate these risk factors, Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital partners with Go & Grow Eastern Shore to provide a Go & Grow Starter Pack to the estimated 450 new parents leaving the hospital each year with a newborn.
